The Intelligent People of Chico’s Downtown Park Plaza

Published on June 19, 2008 by   ·   2 Comments

Right outside Synthesis HQ in sunny Downtown Chico, CA is a sprawling concrete square known as Downtown Park Plaza. Once upon a time it was filled with magestic oak trees, but they all got cut down and now we have a fountain that bums wash their asses in and kids get E. Coli from. WINNAR! Even better, the park is always filled with really intelligent folk just waiting to share their wealth of knowledge with the public, like so many scruffy Socrateses. In this video, Synthesis Marketing Boss Cayle Hunter asks a few of these park residents their opinion on the upcoming presidential election.

I am still pissed they chopped those oaks down. I was hitch-hiking out of Santa Rosa last month and some old man picked me up, we talked and he asked me … “Chico Still has those amazing Oak trees downtown right? They had all sorts of records set in the Oak category. Those Oak trees *were* chico… Robin Hood!”, It sucked when I had to tell him “Nope they chopped them all down, made a concrete monstrosity equipped with Masonic plaques … all to make some greedy hell-bound contractor rich and ensure that Chico was New-World-Order compatible.”

Your post went from reasonable and sensible to straight up crazy real fast.

Yeah, it’s a huge bummer that they cut down those beautiful oak trees. I’m still steaming over that too.

But masonic symbolism? New world order?
      Are you for real, bro?
