The Good Hurt, Venice CA

Last night was the official kickoff of the Fortress of Attitude SXSW Tour. We made it all the way from Downtown Los Angeles, CA, to Venice, CA to open the show at The Good Hurt. At one time the club had been a serious FoA stomping ground, but the band hadn’t really played there since they changed booking agents.

Regardless, it was a strong opening to the tour. The people of The Good Hurt took care of us, the sound and lighting were excellent and the crowd, though a bit on the small side, was into FoA’s show from note one. Actually, from banter one. The dimly red-lit Good Hurt is set with a hospital theme, with Red Cross decor and attractive female bartenders dressed in black nurses’ uniforms.

(In case yo were wondering, the LED laminate around her neck read: “stop staring at my tits.” Perv.) More importantly, however, The Good Hurt’s smoke and lighting plus our being ahead of schedule gave us ample time for a “live” photo shoot…
