Got a nice little note today from an artist we interviewed for Synthesis Magazine back in the day. Renato Klieger’s art is truly badical, and his latest video follows suit.
Hi
I don´t know if you still remember me, but Rey Roldan did an interview around 2006 with me.
Hope to not disturb you… I just want to share with you a new music video I did in my free time for an Indonesian band called The S.I.G.I.T. (www.myspace.com/thesigit)
Here´s the result : http://www.vimeo.com/4140405
I hope you like it!

Linsay Lohan: Alone, Looking for Love

It’s good to see that Lindsay has a sense of humor about being an insanely narcissistic alcoholic celebrity who was, at some point, maybe a lesbian.

Hey Sandy? Tera Melos Meets Pete and Pete

Hey Sandy? Tera Melos Meets Pete and Pete

Those familiar with Tera Melos know the group as one of the foremost purveyors of intense, super-spastic math prog. But proving that everybody’s got a lighter side, Tera Melos now presents their take on a cult classic theme song from a cult classic television show: “Hey Sandy” from Nickelodeon’s fabled Pete and Pete.
“Hey Sandy” was originally penned by Polaris, which was actually just a pseudonym offshoot for the band Miracle Legion, thrown together specifically to lay background music for the show. It’s the opinion of this writer though that Polaris [...]

Fuck. Fixed. Except…

A Taste of The Toast from Michael on Vimeo
First post, so here’s a neat fixed gear video. I usually wouldn’t post anything fixed gear related because most people associated in the fixed gear “scene” are complete douchers and most fixed gear videos are retarded anyway. But this one is shot really well and seems pretty damn cool. Plus, anything shot in slow motion usually rocks cocks. Anyway, take a look.

Eminem’s Video For ‘We Made You’

Eminem’s Video For ‘We Made You’

It appears that multi-platinum shock rapper Eminem has busted out of the woodwork after about a 3 year hiatus.  Mr. Mathers is set to drop his next album, Relapse, sometime in may, with a follow-up record Relapse 2 which is due to come out later this year.
His single off the new record, ‘We Made You’, hit teh internetz today along with a video produced by Dre. In short, Slim has started to regress as an artist, relying on a weak song, a very uninviting chorus and the same senseless [...]

Cursive Update, Plus General Saddle Creek News

There are a few writers here at Synthesis who swear by Omaha noisy indie-rockers Cursive. Personally, I’m on the fence about them, having seen some hit-or-miss shows. But they’re at least worthy of a listen, and with their new album dropping this April, I plan on letting them have another shot at winning my heart.
Cursive – Mama, I’s Swollen – CD/Digital March 10, 2009, LP April 21, 2009
…Mama, I’m Swollen is an album brimming with the universal, questioning the human condition, social morality, and the ”Peter Pan Syndrome” of grown [...]

Saosin Live In Hurley Studio

Saosin Live In Hurley Studio

Continuing the path so many artists are taking these days, Saosin is back in the Hurley studio recording tracks for their next full length.  Like everyone else, I was not the biggest fan of their self-titled album, but the Grey EP (which was recorded in the Hurley studio with the streaming video feed) had some cool tracks on it, so I’m definitely giving these guys a second chance. Head on over to the Hurley/Saosin page to check out the recording process and chat with the guys.
