A false poster for this year’s Coachella Music and Art’s festival was thrown into the comments of a Stereogum thread this morning, and the creators of the work in question did a great job giving every hipster and hopeful on the planet an instant boner. Every so often I find myself flipping through CDs in a jaded attempt to fins something, anything, with a little authenticity, originality or…well, something that doesn’t suck. It can be a tough job, actually. If only there were more bands like Surface of Atlantic, who really spoke out to me through the filter-less din of internet music. Sigur Ros’ “Heima” a feature length film documenting their 2006 tour of their home country Iceland is streaming in its entirety on YouTube today:

Sigur Ros Streaming Now!

Post rock giants Sigur Ros are currently streaming their new album, Heim/Hvarf, on myspace. The Icelandic badasses also is releasing Heima, a live dvd of last summer’s tour in their homeland. Plans to release a CD/DVD of Odin’s Raven Magic, an “orchestral setting to the Icelandic poem Hrafnagaldr Óðins” has a possible January release date.
Kids in bands: these guys are better than you… unless you happen to be in Bear Hunter.
