The Herbaliser Band
Session 2
K7!
The Herbaliser Band is an offshoot project from long-running UK jazz/hip-hop duo, The Herbaliser. Although The Herbaliser put out an album just last year, The Herbaliser Band hasn’t had a new release since it’s debut way back in 2000. With Session Two, the Band offers up 11 tracks (plus a little secret song) of smooth, instrumental jazz fusion that’s mellow without being dull. Short vocal samples are dropped here and there to keep things interesting. Various bits from what sounds like news coverage of the moon landing [...]

Synthesis Band You’ve Never Heard Of…OF THE DAY!!111 – Christ Inversion
Posted on 03. Dec, 2008 by Daniel Taylor in Band of the Day, Music
So I got a package from my homie Tom at Heavy Hitter Inc the other day, and he only ever sends the heaviest fucking shit; most of the bands he works have those logos that look light lightning bolts and barbed wire, and have names that imply some sort of death, dying, dead body or related morbidity. So of course I was stoked, and was even more stoked when I opened that fucker up and saw the “new” Christ Inversion record staring me in the face.
Christ Inversion, for those who [...]
Weezer: “Pork And Beans”
Posted on 14. May, 2008 by some guy in Music
I just listened to Weezer’s new single, “Pork and Beans,” as it’s streaming from their website. It certainly has a catchy chorus, reminiscent of the good old days, but the verse schemes and lyrics remind me of “Beverly Hills,” which, in my opinion, was the worst Weezer single ever released. Far too many similarities to Avril Lavigne. I’ll keep hope alive for the new record, but I don’t know. They haven’t put anything out worthwhile since the Green album. Fingers crossed…
Synthesis Presents: The Premiere of Tim Fite’s “Rats & Rags” Video

We here at the world renown Synthesis Blog are happy to announce the premeire of Tim Fite’s “Rats & Rags” video from his forthcoming album Fair Ain’t Fair, available in stores on 5.06.08 on Anti- Records. If this teaser is any indication, Fair Ain’t Fair will be Fite’s most accomplished album yet.
I gotta be honest: first time I heard Tim Fite a few years back, I was not impressed. However, judging by this clip, I am going to rock Tim Fite’s new one hard, toss it around like a [...]
The Hives

Like most songs by The Hives, I have absolutely no idea what “Tick Tick Boom” is all about. Love Pelle Almqvist’s voice, but definitely think his lyrics need a bit of work. But whatever, I guess not everyone needs to be a Leonard Cohen. Actions speak louder than words anyway, and in their video for “tick Tick Boom” they are giants, they fuck the shit out of art and make big explosions and funny faces. Their new album, The Black and White Album, hits US shores Tuesday November 13th.
