Decemberists on Colbert Report Tonight
Posted on 27. Apr, 2009 by spencer in Music, Politics
Even thought they were trounced in the great ShredDown of 2006, The Decemberists are coming back to the Colbert Report with their overly-literate tails between their legs (eat it lit majors!)
Tune in tonight (4/27) to check out The Decemberists performing “The Wanting Comes In Waves / Repaid†on The Colbert Report (Comedy Central, 11:30/10:30c)! Colin Meloy and Chris Funk will also sit down for an interview with Stephen Colbert. This will be the band’s first appearance on the show since 2006’s ShredDown where Funk was dubiously defeated by last-minute [...]
Jon Stewart Lays the Smackdown on Rick Santelli, CNBC
Posted on 05. Mar, 2009 by Daniel Taylor in How's Business, Politics, TV
After it came to pass that CNBC analyst Rick Santelli’s seemingly spontaneous tirade on the floor of the Chicago Commodities Exchange, calling for a Chicago Tea Party and lambasting the President’s plan to bailout homeowners was anything but spontaneous and was in fact part of a viral marketing campaign instituted by some of Conservatism’s most nefarious powers-that-be, CNBC’s already tenuous grasp on respectability was loosened significantly if not completely erased
Synthesis Band…Err… Artist You’ve Never Heard Of… OF THE DAY!!!: Bo Burnham

I have no idea how this passed under our my radar for so long, but if you haven’t heard of Bo Burnham yet you should probably start checking out his work. This singer/songwriter/comedian has a thinking-man’s way with words and uses his songs to project some kind of sweet comedic gems. It seems that I’ve really missed the gun on this one, because the guy has been on Comedy Central, Last Call with Carson Daily, College Humor and is set to have his own Comedy Central Presents [...]
Synthesis Band You’ve Never Heard of Band of the Day: 99 Cent Whore
Posted on 15. Jan, 2008 by spencer in Blog
You’re either going to love our band of the day, or hate it with a bloody passion. The jury’s still out for me, but at the moment I’m leaning toward the former. This act, 99 Cent Whore, featuring actress Mary Birdsong (who plays Deputy Kimball on Comedy Central’s Reno 911!) revs up the schlock and shock factor of its titular frontwoman’s profession. Seems her life didn’t turn out exactly how she thought it would: hence, “99 Cent Whore,” her name and vocation.
The music is macho-rock/pop, full of fist-pumping,headband sweating potential, [...]
Funnyman Daniel Tosh

I wonder if comedians ever tire of being referred to as “funnyman?” Also, do women entertainers ever tire of being introduced as “the lovely and talented?” These are the kinds of questions that haunt my day. I have a very easy life. Here’s some Daniel Tosh.
