Wild Beasts: Two Dancers

Wild Beasts
Two Dancers
Domino
Wild Beasts are an ambient pop quartet hailing from the UK and this is their much-anticipated sophomore effort for domino Records. As a whole, Two Dancers flows nicely with a beautiful aesthetic full of melodic and dynamic continuity for any fan of bedtime-rock. The guys are admirably achieving new sonic territory compared to other rockers from across the pond (Oasis, Coldplay) and the single “Hooting and Howling” is by far the stand-out track, as it’s warm and melancholy but not without a sense of playful enthusiastic lyricism: “We’re [...]

Vitamin String Quartet – Performs Radiohead’s “In Rainbows”

Vitamin String Quartet
Performs Radiohead’s “In Rainbows”
Vitamin
The Vitamin String Quartet is known for instrumentally altering complete albums from Coldplay to Good Charlotte. In their latest release, the VCQ takes the original composition of Radiohead’s In Rainbows and adds a little twist with some violin, viola and cello, while dropping the lyrics, and creates an incredible reinterpretation of the album. One can’t help but imagine that the group fell into an orchestra pit to shape the beautiful love child that is Vitamin String Quartet. The sound is epically cinematic and great [...]

Joe Satriani Sues Coldplay

Posted on 05. Dec, 2008 by Dallas VonKillbot in Blog

Joe Satriani recently popped up on Goggle’s Hot Trends today, which is exciting news in itsself (if you don’t know who he is, hit yourself multiple times in the face and click the link above).  It turns out that Satch is suing Coldplay because of the distinct rip-off job they did on one of their songs.  There’s no questioning which one of the acts are the better group of musicians (go listen to Satriani’s Surfing with the Alien for proof), but the question now is who’s going to win the [...]

Coldplay Is the Biggest/Worst Band Ever, But Not Really

Posted on 25. Jun, 2008 by ryan in Apocalypse, Blog, Music

The audacity of these pricks! Topping both the Billboard Top 200 and the UK Album charts with their newest album Viva La Vida. Coldplay was mildly awesome when Parachutes came out, but ever since they compromised their souls, married actresses and named their kids after fruit, they’ve huffed DONG.
Actually, I haven’t heard the album. But I heard the single and it was pretty fucking good. I just don’t like band monopoly. Judge me.
Coldplay’s latest album, Viva La Vida, debuts at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 with over 720,000 copies [...]

As Spencer previously posted, Coldplay have recently announced the dates of their upcoming tour, but it seems that choppy waters have arose across the pond. Due to what the band referred to as “production delays”, they have been forced to postpone the start of their tour for two weeks, now starting in LA on July 14th. The tour will now wrap in Boston on August 4th. They are offering refunds for those that can not make the new dates. The free shows in London, on the 16th, Barcelona on [...]
