iPhone vs. BlackBerry

I know–this isn’t the hottest topic right now since the latest iPhone model came out about a month ago…but I just jumped ship (from a BlackBerry Curve) and was interested to hear other people’s thoughts on this debate. I know Bill here at Synthesis jumped to the iPhone when the first generation of the iPhone came out a few years ago and was thoroughly loving it. Bill–have you gotten the latest one??
For the last two years I’ve been using my BlackBerry Curve and loving it (most of the time). Since, [...]

Jamie Foxx Requests Miley Cyrus Sex Tape

Maybe Jamie Foxx is secret /b/tard or maybe he’s just down with the young ones, either way, during his show on Sirius Radio, Foxx called on the 16-year old Cyrus to “Make a sex tape and grow up.”

Road Games: The Predictive Text Game

“This part of the country is really beautiful.”
No it’s not. We’re in the Southwest and there is nothing to look at but highway, cacti and dirt. And thanks to our brilliant job of cleaning out the Gay Car before hitting the road we have no CDs to listen to. None…except our respective bands, and we’re waiting for the right moment to premier the rough mix of the new Gorgeous Armada album. With no music to listen to, road games are a must.

Wow. It’s the last day of 2008 and Dallas is posting stories about pop-celebs…
Sweet. I have just the story to continue on with this theme. I was actually thinking of passing the story to a TMZ colleague of mine but the internet has been down at my home and I’ve not been into work in the last week and a half due to a glorious winter vay-cay (THANK YOU TROUBADOUR!)–thus, I’ve had no contact with the outside world other then what’s been sent to my Blackberry. So, I sit here [...]

Speeding Tickets, a thing of the Past

Tired of wasting all your hard earned dough on pesky speeding tickets? Well now you can give the fuzz the finger with a new mobile phone app. called Trapster. Utilizing GPS technology and real-time data distribution users can receive mobile alerts on their cell phone/PDA when approaching speed traps or red-light cameras. For example, if you’re driving along and you’re about to approach a speed trap (and you’ve got Trapster running), your phone will automatically sound an alert saying “live police” giving you time to slow down and avoid that [...]

Nomophobia – The Fear of Being Out of Cell Phone Range

Research in Britain has shown that up to 53% of mobile phone users suffer from “no mobile phobia,” or nomophobia, the fear of being without cell phone service for any reason:
They have become so dependent on their mobile that discovering it is out of charge or simply misplacing it sends stress levels soaring. More than one in two said this is why they never switch it off. One in ten said they needed to be contactable at all times because of their jobs, while 9 per cent said that [...]

Big Brother at your fingertips

It seems more and more that the idea of privacy is fading into obscurity. Everybody is interconnected, knows what we’re doing, where we are and whom we’re with.  Take advantage of cellphone GPS and make sure that boyfriend of yours or employee is where they say they are. YOU ARE BEING WATCHED!
