A few Synthesis employees took a blood oath, and decided to stray away from our usual local eateries to head out to Sharon’s Cookhouse. Sharon’s is an oasis of BBQ sauce in the middle of the outskirts of our town. Featured in Sunset magazine, Sharon’s Cookhouse serves up fried fish to BBQ pork and everything in between. It is the closest the west can come to southern Soul Food, and it is the closest we came to Nirvana. Adding to the southern hospitality was the server/cook/hostess/busser all in one running the restaurant. When she came out to take our order, the server dropped her tray full of silverware and napkins on the table and asked us to set our own places as it would save her time.
Last time one of our party was at Sharon’s Cookhouse, they had a TV in the dining room with half the staff sitting and watching the movies they would play. Always keeping the customers happy, the staff would ask what customers want to watch next. Sharon was on some shit, because she always had the latest bootleg movies and all 40 volumes of Def Comedy Jam.
Sharon’s family atmosphere only complements the amazing food. We are going back to Sharon’s the rest of this week until we have all ordered and tasted everything on the menu.
