Un-Fucking-Believeable! The first week of the Spring 2009 semester at Chico State and people are acting like complete morons already. My roomate and I were walking home from the bars last night at around midnight or so and what do we run into on 6th in between Normal St and Ivy St? Dumb, drunk BRO’s trying to keep it college and start a riot. How fucking dumb are these people, really? As my roomate and I walked closer to check things out, we realized how crazy it actually was. The cops had 8 cars (4 on each end of the street) which essentially blocked in the crowd in a confinded area. My roomate wanted to get closer, so we decided to go inbetween an apartment complex and a house and found ourselves right in the middle of the craziness. In the short 15 or so minutes we were there, about 14 Police and Highway Patrol cars had accumulated with all the offiers getting on helmets and their “riot gear”. Dumb ass people were throwing full beer bottles and cans at the police barracade line, there was a fire in the middle of the street and hundreds of ignorant-ass people chanting “CHICO-CHICO-CHICO”. Its really ironic, and sad at the same time. All these people are doing is ruining their degree and making there time at Chico State worthless; who the fuck wants to hire people from a school who have a riot every semester? My mind can’t really wrap it self around how absolutly fucking dumb these people are. Maybe it’s because I don’t wear Ed Hardy shirts, go to Riley’s, have a fo-hawk, or belong to a frat and it’s just a shot in the dark but I’m guessing that description is spot on for about 80% of the people who started that non-sense lastinght, BUT I still just don’t understand how one could think such a dumb activity would be fun or cool. In the words of my mentor and friend Daniel Taylor “dude that’s soooo college”.

Yeah, why on earth would someone be ashamed to be a retard? They didn’t choose that lifestyle, they were born that way. And for you to ridicule them for living life the way they desire, then maybe YOU should be the one tied to the ball hitch of their lifted Chevy and dragged for miles.
I agree with some things you say but… I think it would be safe to say that most of the people at the riot could not even get into Riley’s. And furthermore what is the problem with Riley’s anyways?? Started by a Chico graduate and offers some of the cheapest drinks in town. I don’t have a “fo-hawk” and I think paying for friends is pointless (frats) but I still go to Riley’s. Maybe you should get off your soap box and try and have some fun or leave and go to one of the many other California colleges. It should be expected that these things will happen in Chico.
It’s completely moronic from the start. When did you (Downanddirty530) find it acceptable to throw bottles at the cops, especially when no rights were violated? It’s amazing what morons will do when they see other morons doing stupid shit… they get into this group-think mindset that leads nowhere good.
Noma2Chico, yea, we do tend to bag on Rileys around these parts, and I think it can be summed up best with knowing we’re usually talking about the stereotypical patron of the bar vs. the establishment itself. We’ll actually be there today as a part of our bar crawl (stop by and say hi, we’ll be the ones with the giant groundhog).

*** If cops become authoritarian, militaristic, and/or violating of rights, they deserve to be challenged. It’s the american way.
