Dresden Dolls
No Virginia...
Editor's Review:
With one foot planted firmly in German cabaret and the other in alternative rock, the Dresden Dolls have forged a unique sound in American music. The Bostonian duo’s latest release is an odds and ends collection that is better than many bands’ actual albums. “Lonesome Organist Rapes Page-Turner” is a real piano-pounder with singer/pianist Amanda Palmer’s speedy singing leaving her out of breath as she endeavors to keep pace with Brian Viglione’s up-tempo drumming. Comprised of unreleased songs, demos, B-sides, a cover and five new tracks, No, Virginia… is a welcome addition to the collection of Dresden Dolls fans and, given the quality of the songs, a fine place for new fans to begin which certainly can’t be said about most rarities collections.Write Your Own Review
