Apparently people still give a rat’s ass about smoking pot, especially when it’s a dude that won about a billion gold metals at the Olympics. Between this current story, the local police’s threats about sending the Olympian to jail and Kelloggs revoking his sponsorship (neglecting the fact that the amount of sugar that they fortify those Frosted Flakes with is enough to send kids into a diabetic coma), Phelps is kind of getting the shit end of the stick here. You know who’s got it worse than him? Anyone that’s remotely connected to the picture.

Today it was announced that 8 people have been arrested in the Michael Phelps bong photo case; 7 for suspects of possession and 1 more for dealing. The owner of the bong, who wasn’t even at the party, is included in those 7, but to back the cops up he was caught trying to sell the bong on eBay for $100,000. Something tells me that might be against their terms of service agreement…

Officers from the Richland County Sheriff’s Department arrested seven of the suspects for possession of marijuana and the eighth for dealing, according to the station.

One arrest included the suspected owner of the bong — who wasn’t even at the party, but was allegedly trying to sell the pipe on eBay for $100,000, WIS reported.

The record-breaking Olympic gold medalist has not been charged in the case.

But he has lost an endorsement contract with Kellogg’s and was suspended by USA Swimming for three months.

The infamous picture, published Feb. 2, was allegedly taken at a University of South Carolina party in Columbia back in November, WIS reported.

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott had taken a lot of heat from people saying he should focus on other crimes or stop singling out Phelps when other partygoers also broke the law, the station reported.

Lott told WIS he couldn’t ignore the violation indicated in the picture just because Phelps is rich and famous.

What the hell does he mean he can’t ignore the fact that Phelps is in the picture?! That’s the only fucking person that hasn’t been arrested! I feel like Cannon, the makers of the camera that took the picture, are going to be arrested before they take it out on their star swimmer. This whole case is a serious abuse of the legal system so the authorities can make an example of the poor dude, even though they haven’t actually touched him. I mean come on, what’s a better way to show young impressionable minds that smoking drugs is a horrible act than punishing everyone but the dude in question?

They forgot to arrest the guy who sold him the camera & the company that made the flash device it was stored on & me for writing a comment about the photo. I think that 4 gold medals is as good as 1 reccomendation. Its Towlie’s fault.
