If you were the boss, which team would you hire?

I received this witty chain mail just now that was rather funny. It examines the candidates educational backgrounds and tosses it in the air for you to decide. I did some fact checking on Wikipedia.org and it appears to check-out.

If You were The Boss… which team would you hire?

With America facing historic debt, multiple war fronts,
stumbling health care, a weakened dollar, all-time high
prison population, skyrocketing Federal spending, mortgage
crisis, bank foreclosures, etc. etc., this is an unusually
critical election year.

Let’s look at the educational background of the
candidates and see what they bring to the job:

Barack Obama:
Occidental College – Two years.
Columbia University – B.A. political science with a
specialization in international relations.
Harvard – Juris Doctor (J.D.) (Attorney), (Magna Cume Laude)

Joseph Biden:
University of Delaware – B.A. in history and B.A. in
political science.
Syracuse University College of Law – Juris Doctor (J.D.)
(Attorney)

VS.

John McCain:
United States Naval Academy – Class rank 894 out of 899
(meaning that, like George Bush, McCain was at the bottom of
his class)

Sarah Palin:
Hawaii Pacific University – 1 semester
North Idaho College – 2 semesters – general study
University of Idaho – 2 semesters – journalism
Matanuska-Susitna College – 1 semester
University of Idaho – 3 semesters – B.A. in journalism

Now, which team are you going to hire to lead the most
influential nation in the world facing historic debt,
multiple war fronts, stumbling health care, a weakened
dollar, all-time high prison population, skyrocketing
Federal spending, mortgage crisis, bank foreclosures,
highest unemployment since the Great Depression , …. THINK
FUTURE!

To play devil’s advocate, Bill Gates, Richard Branson, Michael Dell, Steve Jobs, Larry Ellison, Paul Allen, just to name a few are all famously “uneducated” by a list like this, yet top the lists of most successful people in America.

College means nothing except your foot easier in the door at a Fortune 500 company, where they will be earning on average $50k a year, same as the “high school drop out become manager” at the local starbucks.

What you have done and what you can do is much more important than showing you can read a book and remember it well enough to answer questions on it.

That’s rather irrelevant. Yes, it is true that many successful entrepreneurs never went to college. But being the president of the US is not entreprenuership, and has a much different skillset.

The last person we want as president is an exploitative business person with a one-track-mind. So your argument provides little if any validity. When it comes to being a president it is important one knows a vast amount of information; Culture, history, constitutionalism, religions and belief systems (other than their own) just to name a few…

If you desire a president who is solely motivated off making money, sleeping with Lobbyists and imperialism, than you will probably miss George W. Bush and therefor would likely want a clone of him in a Skirt, Sarah Palin (Because we all know McCain is going to croak!)

College doesn’t mean much these days, but when you compare the two ‘Resumes’ it says a lot about their personalities, habits, ideals and life focus.

One thing that isn’t mentioned above is that Obama taught Constitutional Law for 12 years at the University of Chicago. This is something that stands out to me, especially after 8 years of constitutional RAPE under the Bush Regime.
