I packed light: sleeping bag, camera bag, bass in softshell case (thanks again, Dallas), laptop case and backpack. In the backpack: stage garb for my Fortress of Attitude gigs, limited toiletries and three changes of clothes. Space is at a premium inside Bomb Threat’s “Gay Car,†a bright red Saturn station wagon that will house a three-piece band for about two weeks. So I minimized my belongings, cramming everything inside the cramped quarters of my backpack.

Not bad, huh? That’s it, two weeks of gear compacted into this…great plan.
Right… First thing that happens, I break the outside pouch zipper trying to get my toiletries bag inside. After arriving at LAX International Airport my bag is among the first down the luggage shoot…opened up, zippers completely torn off. Welcome to LA!
