I could go on about Hatebreed and what a nice dude Jamey Jasta is, but shit man, I didn’t hear Koch changed their name to E1 Music. Fuck dude, that’s…not actually all that important. What IS important is that Hatebreed have a covers album coming out in May, their guitarist Sean Martin quit the band but there’s no hard feelings, and the replacement is…Hatebreed’s old guitarist Wayne Lozinak.

GUITAR PLAYER SEAN MARTIN EXITS

BAND WELCOMES BACK ORIGINAL GUITARIST

(New York, NY) — Hardcore metal leaders HATEBREED are set to release their long-awaited new covers album, FOR THE LIONS, on Tuesday May 5th, 2009 via E1 Music (formerly KOCH Records).  This new release is the follow-up to the band’s #1 Billboard charting DVD, LIVE DOMINANCE (released September of 2008) which left fans “Picking their teeth up off the floor” and “sounding immense” according to Outburn.

The songs on FOR THE LIONS were carefully selected by HATEBREED to represent a panoramic view of some of their favorite artists and greatest musical inspirations.  Having completed the album in 2008, the band felt their work wasn’t done yet and just returned to the studio with original guitar player Wayne Lozinak to record additional tracks for the album. The 4 new covers are among the most bludgeoning the band has yet to record. These include, “Ghosts Of War” (Slayer), “Supertouch/Shitfit (Bad Brains), “Thirsty (Black Flag) and “Suicidal Maniac” (Suicidal Tendencies).

FOR THE LIONS was produced, engineered and mixed by long-time band associate Chris “Zeuss” Harris.

In additional HATEBREED news, the band announces the departure of guitar player Sean M. Martin welcoming back to the fold original guitarist Wayne Lozinak. Front man Jamey Jasta says, “I speak on behalf of all of us and we support Sean’s decision to leave and want him to be happy and successful at everything he does. There are no bad feelings at all and you’ll probably see him hanging on stage at some of our local shows. We’re family and he will be missed but HATEBREED will forge on.”

Sean M. Martin comments “After 10 years, I’ve decided to leave HATEBREED. This in no way reflects my personal relationship with Jamey, Chris, Matt and Frank, they’re four of my closest friends and I’ll always love them with all my heart. I want to thank all of the fans as well as the guys in the band and crew, past and present, for giving me some of the best times of my life.”

HATEBREED will play a special one-off show on May 1st at Toad’s Place in New-Haven, CT , performing songs from the forthcoming covers album and of course, long-time favorites. HATEBREED will also be kicking off a short world tour appearing at the following European Festivals:
