God Apparently Hates Prom And Rock Music

Those crazy fundamental baptists Christians are at it again. At what you might ask? Making themselves look like a bunch of dumb-asses. If you have seen the documentary “Jesus Camp“, then you know the types of religious folk I am talking about. If you haven’t seen that film, or are unfamiliar with the baptist branch of Christianity, they are crazy. They are the ultra, ultra conservative type. Thees people that think you will poison your mind if you watch a PG rated movie, or scar yourself for life if you listen to “worldly”/non-christian music. Essentially, baptists are some of the most conservative and radical religious types out there. With that brief description out of the way, here is the story. A kid in Ohio wants to take his girlfriend to prom. However , she goes to the public school and and is probably going to hell for it. The young boy’s principle at the baptist school is threatening to suspend, possibly expel the kid if he goes to the dance at the public school. The principle is quoted saying, “In life we decisions weather we are going to please ourselves or please God. (The student) Chose one path, and the school committee chose another…” she went on to defend the school’s 84 page student handbook that states rock music “is part of the counter culture which seeks to implant seeds of rebellion in young people’s hearts and minds.” Seriously? If i recall parts of the bible correctly Jesus hung out with hookers and drank wine with the worst of the worst. I’m sure there was music playing and I’m sure there was dancing going on while Jesus was hanging out with the lowest of the low in the worst places at that time. This story bothers me to no end, because it shows how ignorant and dumb people can be. I don’t have too many problems with religious people because they can believe whatever they want and that’s their choice, BUT when people are that legalistic and strict with how to live, it blows my mind. Closing thought:Baptist people are crazy and should be avoided at all costs and if you are one, I’m sorry and feel bad for you.
