Fireworks
All I Have to Offer Is My Own Confusion
Triple Crown
Fireworks is a pop-punk quintet from the suburbs of Detroit and this here is their debut on Triple Crown. The lyrics get pretty emo at times, but luckily All I Have to Offer less heavy on the pre-pubescent romance and more inclined to speak to the underage adventure seeker. Worthwhile teenage rock ‘n’ roll is not without a sense of social futility as we get a few nuggets of adolescent philosophy: “My friends and I still get off on making no sense at all.†Sure. It’s been done before but nothing takes you back to the boredom of biking around your local high school at 3 AM more than a three chord pop-punk song with just the right hook about somehow making it out of this town.
