A&E has “indefinitely suspended” production of the hit show Dog the Bounty Hunter, after a taped conversation of him imploring his son Tucker to stop dating a “nigger” was leaked onto the internet for hella lulz. Here’s the transcript:

That’s a slippery slope. What Dog was doing is considered ‘Free Speech’ and what you are referring to is him ‘Committing a Crime.’ Those are 2 completely different things.
Free speech is making a statement, which is protected by our Constitution (well, it’s supposed to be. it’s quckly being dismantled). Committing a Crime is an action which results in the harm to someone else.

Also note people, the fact that Dog had his show removed has nothing to do with Free Speech. A&E is a BUSINESS with an IMAGE (Public Relations) to maintain. I watch – or watched – the show as a guilty pleasure, as escapist literature. Secondarily, to conduct an exercise in relating to a family, a lifestyle, for which there is no basis for a relationship. As such, I was always aware of the “typical” fan – someone more foreign and abhorent to me than the Chapmans could aspire to – yet still managed to be shocked by some of the above comments. And I’m not referring to the rampant, unleashed racism so much as the astonishing illiteracy not only from those expressing racism but from those mouthing insipid platitudes in lieu of an original thought. Too bad I didn’t come across this little chat session days ago when somebody else might actually read this.
