Because I am a nerd. The dude leaves a lot to be desired with his video work and his big finish is pretty weak. I won’t hold that against him, my camera work would probably be pretty shitty too if I spent that much time hooking my computer up to random crap in my room.

Physicists Detect Unknown “Structures” Outside the Known Universe

Maybe this is where we go when we die:
On the outskirts of creation, unknown, unseen “structures” are tugging on our universe like cosmic magnets, a controversial new study says.
Everything in the known universe is said to be racing toward the massive clumps of matter at more than 2 million miles (3.2 million kilometers) an hour—a movement the researchers have dubbed dark flow.
The presence of the extra-universal matter suggests that our universe is part of something bigger—a multiverse—and that whatever is out there is very different from the universe we know

A big-ass spider was caught on camera eating a bird in Atherton, Australia. Apparently this thing is called a Golden Orb Weaver and can grow as large a human hand. Read more here.

NASA Astronauts Say Space Smells Like Fried Steak

Finally, proof that the sun is made of beef:
Outer space smells of fried steak, scientists revealed yesterday. The universe also has an aroma of hot metal and motorbike welding, Nasa experts said. Astronauts reported the bizarre scents on their suits when they returned from space walks.
The space agency has commissioned Steven Pearce of British fragrance firm Omega Ingredients to recreate the smells to help train spacemen. He said: “When astronauts were de-suiting and taking off helmets, they all reported quite particular odours.

Depressed? You’re Going To Die Soon. Feel Better Yet?

According to researchers at the University College London, employees who take long periods of sick leave, for both health- and depression-related issues, are more likely to die from cancer. Considering I took almost 100 sick days last year, I should consider writing my obit instead of another blog.
On the bright side, at least I can start smoking cigarettes again.
From BBC:
Study leader Jenny Head said it was the first time work absence for psychiatric reasons such as depression had been linked to death from cancer.
“That was the unexpected finding,” she said.
“We [...]

Did You Know: Time Cube

You may think you know time, man, but Dr. Gene Ray knows time and it ain’t round man, its a cube. It’s a time cube:
EARTH HAS 4 CORNER SIMULTANEOUS 4-DAY TIME CUBE IN ONLY 24 HOUR ROTATION. 4 Corner TIME CUBES EARTH. If a God existed, he would be EVIL to DENY 4 Opposite Corner Days. Greenwich Mean Time divides the Earth into opposite Days, voiding and contradicting the 1Day 1God Bible. Even by ignoring Sunup and Sundown quadrants, the Midnight to Midnight 24 hour Day and the official/unofficial imaginary [...]

Did You Know: Monkey Pig Is Just One of the Badass Results of Holoprosencephaly

The recent monkey-faced pig born in China, is just one stellar example of the neurological malformation Holoprosencephaly, which causes animals, and humans to be born with severe facial deformities that sometimes can resemble the cyclops of ancient legend.

The most well known of these is the recent birth of Cy, the Cyclops kitten. But there have been human cases as well, most resulting in still birth, but still presenting interesting fodder for inspection. If you don’t get scared by shit that’s real, click read more

Inbred Dwarves May Hold Key To Cancer

A groups of Ecuadorian little people, the Laron Dwarfs, have, through the magic of inbreeding become immune to both cancer and diabetes, giving scientists hope that this immunity can be transferred to the general populace:

There are a little more than 300 people in the world with the condition Laron dwarfism, a third of whom live in remote villages in Ecuador’s southern Loja province.
Sufferers of Laron – believed to be caused by inbreeding – lack a hormone called Insulin-like Growth Factor 1, or IGF1.
Research uncovered during an investigation by Channel 4’s [...]
