Art Wellersdick Meets The Economy

It is a strange time when the American Way of Life crashes. Fear and a sense of impending doom tend to drive otherwise rational people into deep fits of despair. People drool and babble and fall all over themselves at the prospect of having to live within their means. When Americans are forced to accept personal responsibility for their actions rather than hurl insults and slander at abstractions like “capitalism” or “socialism” or “government” things turn grim. The money whores in this nation have plunged us all into the darkness, [...]

When Glenn Beck was on CNN he was at least somewhat coherent. These days, he seriously seems like he’s lost his fucking mind.

Obama’s Bracket

Considering the fact I don’t think I’ve watched a single college basketball game this year, I doubt it’d do me any good to bother with a March Madness bracket. Sorry, I’m more of a football guy myself.
The President doesn’t seem to be in the same boat as me. He recently invited ESPN to the historic White House Map Room to hit the chart and give us his picks. The winner? UNC.
The first round of this year’s tournament begins Thursday, and plenty of White House workers, as [...]

Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston Call Off Their Wedding

It seem Bristol Palin, daughter of Alaska governor Sarah Palin and her fiance Levi Johnston, the supposed paragon of committed, responsible parenting, have ended their relationship and called off their wedding

Jim Cramer, Rick Santelli and The Class Warfare Meme

If, like me, you’re the kind of person that loves wasting the hours away by watching the degenerative brain candy that is cable news, then you’ve no doubt heard that reliable old political nugget “class warfare” bandied about quite a bit lately in regards to the tax policies of our new President. This is especially true if, like me, you sometimes tune into those cable news channels that focus ostensibly on “business” such as CNBC, or that bastion of fair-and-balanced reporting, FOX News, both of which have been busy mustering their troops to prepare to face this conflict head on.

The Hash Reality of AB-390

Regardless of how you morally feel about weed and weather people should or should not smoke it, thanks to Tom Ammiano it is something that will be brought up a lot in the upcoming future. I actually spent a solid 20 minutes reading the proposed AB-390 that assemblymen Ammiano and it sounds pretty interesting. Some of it sounds good and I think it could work, and some of it sounds a little out of reach even for our already weed friendly state. In a nut-shell, if you haven’t heard, will [...]

Jon Stewart Lays the Smackdown on Rick Santelli, CNBC

Posted on 05. Mar, 2009 by Daniel Taylor in How's Business, Politics, TV

After it came to pass that CNBC analyst Rick Santelli’s seemingly spontaneous tirade on the floor of the Chicago Commodities Exchange, calling for a Chicago Tea Party and lambasting the President’s plan to bailout homeowners was anything but spontaneous and was in fact part of a viral marketing campaign instituted by some of Conservatism’s most nefarious powers-that-be, CNBC’s already tenuous grasp on respectability was loosened significantly if not completely erased

Bernie Madoff’s Wife Makes Case To Keep that NYC Penthouse, $62 million

f you thought it was bad that disgraced financier ,and now-legendary avatar of American greed and Capitalistic Folly, Bernie Madoff has been so far allowed to remain under “house arrest” in his $7 million dollar Manhattan Penthouse while his trial for ripping off $50 billion dollars proceeds, get a load of this: his wife Ruth is now claiming that the Manhattan penthouse and $62 million of of the couple’s assets including cash and bonds are “unrelated” to Madoff’s trangressions and are owned by her, thus making them off limits to seizure .
