Saucony: Number One With A Bullet

Right now I’m checking out new kicks, and given my well documented infatuation with Saucony, plus the fact that they’re feeding the dragon, I’ve been looking into their more recent designs. While I still favor the 1981 designed Jazz model, I’m kinda digging the sleek Bullet track shoe series.
Sweet kicks, huh? For shits and giggles: http://www.saucony.com/originals

Yes to tour with Asia. Really.

Yes to tour with Asia. Really.

Here I am, busy pounding the table, beating myself off while whistling “Heat of The Moment.” The announcement of the Yes/Asia tour is just one of those exciting things that I live for.
For this tour they’ve brought out the Crypt Keeper to play in both sets. Steve Howe is the original Loner of an only heart.

(For the record, I am actually kinda excited for this in a “grandpa-rock,” “featuring several original members” sort of way…)

Garnier Fructis Style “Surf Hair” as Moustache Wax?

I am an American, and as such, I’m brand-minded. Granted, I’m less-so than most of my friends, but I still tend to favor my trusted logos; Fender amps, Gibson guitars, Electro-Harmonix and Boss pedals….and Clubman moustache wax.
But a few weeks ago I was at SXSW (more pics coming soon, I swear), and there I found a Garnier Fructis booth doing some promotions. I asked if they made moustache wax and they gave me a 5 oz container of “Surf Hair,” saying it would do fine for molding my face mane.

“Hi! Joel Bauer, meet Patrick Bateman. Patrick Bateman, meet Joel Bauer.”
“Cheap. Strathmore stock. 60 lb.. Holds a crease. Can you tear it? Absolutely.”

“Good coloring.”
“That’s bone. And the lettering is something called ’silian rail.’”

Pal-sies? Indubitably!

Unicorn Sightings: Project Unicorn Media

Posted on 06. Apr, 2009 by spencer in Art, How's Business, Music, SXSW, TV, Technology

I’m still trying to figure out if Project Unicorn/Unicorn Media is just an independent version of Hulu, featuring unheard-of (but still high quality) videos and music, a way to promote new filmmakers and musicians, or some global media company hell-bent on restructuring the way we consume content. Either way, we’re looking at hours of content. Check out some films here, and independent music here.
Their videos may take a second to load, but all and all they’re worth it, in High-Def . For instance, take a look at this one [...]
