Guitar Hero 5 Tracklisting

Posted on 31. Jul, 2009 by Dallas VonKillbot in Idiocy, Music, gaming

I hate to say it, but I’m pretty sure this video game enterprise, along with Rock Band, is one of the only reasons that the music industry isn’t completely tanking. I haven’t looked into what the contracts are like regarding issues like securing copyrights or label fees, but any idiot with a flavor of the week band on their label is sure to get a slice of the pie.
On the other side of things, I still can’t figure out why you would waste away hundreds of [...]

Top 5 Reasons Star Wars is Awesome

The other day I was watching the first Star Wars movie with my friend.  Things were going well and we were both having a grand time until we took the magical journey to Mos Eisley.
“What’s this silliness?” I asked my friend.
“Why, that’s a dewback, chap,” came his reply.
“I know that, cunt.  Why’s it look like it’s from a Playstation game?” I inquired.
“Special Edition, broseph.  It’s got a ton of new things added in like Jabba in the Mos Eisley space port.”
I perked [...]

David Lance Arneson of Dungeons & Dragons Fame Passes

Posted on 10. Apr, 2009 by spencer in Art, gaming

I thought endless amounts of Mountain Dew and Cheetos was supposed to preserve you, not cause cancer. Hope he’s rolling that 20-sided die in the sky.
From Wikipedia:
In an email statement released by his family, it was announced that Arneson died shortly after 11pm Central Time, on April 7, 2009. Wizards of the Coast later announced that he had lost “one final battle against cancer.” According to his daughter, Malia Weinhagen, “The biggest thing about my dad’s world is he wanted people to have fun in life. . . . I [...]

Road Games: The Predictive Text Game

“This part of the country is really beautiful.”
No it’s not. We’re in the Southwest and there is nothing to look at but highway, cacti and dirt. And thanks to our brilliant job of cleaning out the Gay Car before hitting the road we have no CDs to listen to. None…except our respective bands, and we’re waiting for the right moment to premier the rough mix of the new Gorgeous Armada album. With no music to listen to, road games are a must.
A decade ago Slug Bug and Out Of State [...]
