One of the neat things about editing the Syntheis Weekly is that I get a first-had crack at the action before the paper even hits the streets. Last Friday I was proofing Mad Bob Howard’s column, and he referenced a fellow “outsider artist” (aside: something about the term “outsider art” or “outsider artist” makes me cringe, and therefore, encase it in quotes like some sort of literary specimin) by the name of Jonathan Troxler.

The Freeze. In Chico. All the way from Massachusetts, these guys were a big part of the Boston hardcore scene in the ‘80s and have been around since 1978. While associated with the hardcore scene, their music has always had more of a melodic approach than counterparts.

While US Navy SEALS were parachuting onto the deck of a US Warship, authorized by President Obama to use deadly force in the rescue of American ship Captain Richard Phillips, whom was successfully recovered after snipers shot three Somali pirates dead, the usual suspects in the right-wing punditry club were too busy calling President Obama a coward for his failure to act and relishing the impending doom of Capt Phillips, to even notice.
