Bernie Madoff’s Wife Makes Case To Keep that NYC Penthouse, $62 million

If you thought it was bad that disgraced financier ,and now-legendary avatar of American greed and Capitalistic Folly, Bernie Madoff has been so far allowed to remain under “house arrest” in his $7 million dollar Manhattan Penthouse while his trial for ripping off $50 billion dollars proceeds, get a load of this: his wife Ruth is now claiming that the Manhattan penthouse and $62 million of of the couple’s assets including cash and bonds are “unrelated” to Madoff’s trangressions and are owned by her, thus making them off limits to seizure . And to make things worse, the court is so far agreeing:

A court-appointed trustee overseeing the liquidation of Madoff’s assets has said the apartment and other property used to secure bail was off limits for now.

I guess being rich still has its perks, even in this new tragic Socialist age, when all those damn poor people are just looking to get their hands on money they didn’t work for. They don’t know, I guess that the only people who deserve to keep money they didn’t work for are rich people!
