America Hates Christina

So, in between drinking beer, making my husband the biggest damn plate of nachos either of us had ever seen and just being an all-around average American, I noticed something during the Super Bowl. But, that’s not saying much because so did the entire country. Poor Christina Aguilera fumbled on the words to one of the best known songs in the US – the National Anthem. But, you already knew that. What’s a little less known is how mortified Christina was. So mortified, in fact, that she fled the state of Texas after her performance. Drama. An NFL source says she didn’t stick around for any after-parties, and instead made a beeline for the airport to fly back home to L.A:

“She hung out for a while at the stadium but then went straight to the airport. She was visibly upset.”

Eek. I kind of feel bad for her because not only did she mess up in front of what seemed like the world, but she also didn’t look her best. Her hair looked a little ratty and brittle and she just sort of looked disheveled. Who knows what’s going on with her, but you’d think those words would be burned into her brain come performance time, right? Bet she won’t forget them now; she even issued a kinda-sorta-apology after the game, saying:

“I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through.”

Shit happens. Just like the Packers winning.
