Setting up a tour for your own band is a lot like a food experiment. You have to own child-like enthusiasm for adventure and experimentation at the risk of your body and personal bank account. You learn what comes first in life. Do you want to get that $6 burger at Carls Jr. and NOT have the money to pay for a couple of tall cans after the gig?  Or do you compromise your moral integrity and steal a cliff bar so you can snag that post-show flask of whiskey and split it with a babe at the after-party who keeps quoting “Penny Lane” and swears she’s not a groupie even though she keeps rubbing your butt?  It’s a day-to-day squabble between stomach and libido.
