Just a quick reminder: local giants Surrogate are officially dropping their second effort, 'Popular Mechanics', today through Tooth and Nail records. The album is available through online outlets, record shops and your local Best Buy retailers. Seriously, this is up in my top CDs of this year. Go and give it a listen over at AOL's Spinner. They're so legit they even have a Wikipedia page... sorta...

Jordan MallorySurrogate is a two-man band from Chico, California featuring multi-instrumentalist Chris Keene and drummer Jordan Mallory, former members of Number One Gun. They signed to Tooth & Nail Records in 2007 and released their début album, Love Is for the Rich, on August 28, 2007.
Once Number One Gun disbanded in late 2005, Chris Keene, dissatisfied with what he calls the "wall of sound, constantly overdriven"[1] style, decided to take on a whole new musical genre. He played some songs for Mallory, who liked them and decided to record some demos with Keene; thus forming Surrogate. The demos were then played for Jonathan Dunn, Tooth & Nail artists and repertoire man, who signed them to Tooth & Nail Records in 2007
The band's sophomore album, Popular Mechanics, is set to be released on July 14th, 2009 on Tooth & Nail Records.
