Having Fun In A Dying Economy Pt. 2: Be Lil Wayne

The economy is still in the toilet and it doesn't look like it's going anywhere anytime soon. The new stimulus plan is supposed to pick us up by our bootstraps, but how long are we going to have to wait for government funded projects to start so that the working man can start to put some bread on the table? It's a time that we need to look elsewhere for amusement, as I detailed in the first part of 'Having Fun In A Dying Economy'. The question we have to ask yet again is how can the average American get by when our jobs are being cut left and right and we don't have enough cash to make ends meet? The answer is easy: become Lil Wayne.

I strolled over to The Smoking Gun earlier today and checked in on Lil Wayne's rider, and needless to say he's probably making enough to pay the bills. In his contract, the rapper states that at least 50% of the money be given up front in cash, he needs at least a 1,000 sq.ft. presidential suite at a 5-star hotel and a 7 or 8 person Lear Jet for round trip transportation. Mix that in with 2 liters of Grey Goose, 2 bottles of Hennessey XO, 2 bottles of Patron Platinum and 4 around the clock armed guards to protect it all and you've got yourself a nice little party.

All this doesn't come as too much of a shock until you realize how rich this cat is. According to Wiki Answers:

It is estimated that Lil Wayne is worth between 55 and 75 million dollars, it is also rumored he owns 3.5 million in cars and 5.6 million in jewelry most noticeable 100,000 dollar Platinum diamond encrusted grill and a 135,000 dollar ring. much of is worth has been earned from guest appearances on fellow artists' albums he commands 60 to 150,000 a verse not including video appearances and touring. Lil Wayne as signed a shoe deal with Rebok for 2.5 million and created his own women's jean line Double U jeans. and reports say Young Money Ent. through Cash Money/universal records made Lil Wayne 10 million in its 1st year with the release of the Carter 2. Def Jam and universal records well both release I Cant Feel My Face with Juelz Santana.

In 2006, Lil Wayne stated that he makes nearly a million dollars per month just touring, which is not surprising considering he has concerts 3-4 times per week.

It had long been rumored that Lil Wayne was the cause of the Hot Boy$ breakup, both B.G. and Juvenile stated they believed that Lil' Wayne earned more off the Hot Boy$ 1998 release "Guerilla Warfare" than anyone else in the group, and also received higher appearance fees than the others. around 150,000 more each member made about 2.5 million.

Considering the source, take it with a grain of salt, but none the less this guy is doing fairly decent right now. So what's a great way to have fun in a depressing economy? Easy: become Lil Wayne.
