Mudvayne On Tour this February

Good news for you Midwesterners...that is, Midwesterners who crave the rock radio stylings of pseudo-metal sweethearts Mudvayne. The band is hitting the road to promote their new album The New Game, you can find their February tour dates and most recent press release after the jump.

Me, I kinda miss all the face paint. The guitar player with the spike-head-face? That guy makes me wanna party like it's 1999....or 2000...or whenever the fuck teenagers and auto mechanics on the coasts still cared about Mudvayne.

FIRST SINGLE “DO WHAT YOU DO” IS #3 AND BUILDING AT ACTIVE ROCK

With their “Do What You Do” Active Rock single now at #3 and climbing, MUDVAYNE--one of the most creative and distinctive bands in the aggressive music world with sales exceeding 5 million units worldwide--will kick off the next leg of their headlining U.S. “The New Game Tour” February 3, with dates running through March 21. Support acts are Nonpoint and In This Moment. This trek follows MUDVAYNE's successful 2008 nationwide tour, which included various sold-out gigs.

Before tickets go on sale to the general public, fans who've already purchased The New Game CD or a ticket to one of the group's 2008 tour dates have access to an exclusive pre-sale through www.thealbumistheticket.com. As an added bonus, the first 100 tickets purchased for each show via this special presale will allow early entry into these general admission venues, so that fans can secure front row spots. Service fees for these fan club only presale tickets are also lower than regular ticketing outlets.

To access the pre-sale, log in to www.thealbumistheticket.com or sign up by using the coupon code you received by purchasing THE NEW GAME CD or a ticket to MUDVAYNE's first run of tour dates. Then check the news page for details and link to buy tickets.

THE NEW GAME is an electrical storm of musical fury, a lesson in controlled chaos that tempers hard rock, heavy metal, prog rock and sadistic splatters of melody into an onslaught of metallic highs and emotional lows, rushing surges and pronounced blows. The band--CHAD GRAY (vocals), GREG TRIBBETT (guitars), RYAN MARTINIE (bass) and MATT MCDONOUGH (drums)--produced THE NEW GAME with Dave Fortman (Evanescence), capturing the wily charisma and hyper-kinetic energy of a band who survived their seven-year itch by embedding their claws into the heart of their music.

MUDVAYNE has received critical accolades for THE NEW GAME. Dave Wedge of the Boston Herald chose the disc for his “Best Of 2008 List” and said the group has “…mastered the art of melodic mayhem (December 19, 2008).” Playboy included the disc in their December 2008 “Hot Tunes” list, noting: “The melody lulls you before serious heft kicks in” referring to the first single “Do What You Do.”
