So What’s Up With Michael Jackson?

Yesterday as Kirty South and I drove back from Olympia WA, HANDS DOWN THE WORST PLACE IN THE UNITED STATES (with a few notable exceptions), I got to select the playlist on his iPod. Between The Shaggs and Deerhoof songs, there was plenty of '80s pop, with no fewer than three Michael Jackson songs strewn in there. Man, that dude could write and perform a song. Despite child-touching allegations and a two-decade long decline in productivity and popularity, you still gotta give it up for Michael as an artist.

This led me to wonder: so when's Wacko Jacko gonna release a new album? Apparently, it's in the works. According to Billboard, songwriter Claude Kelly penned a song for the new Akon album. When Akon played Kelly the track, it featured none other than Michael Jackson. The track "Hold My Hand" will reportedly be released on both Akon's album, and Jackson's upcoming release (no release date yet). I for one can't wait. No, seriously.

Claude Kelly, who can write a hit song, but apparently has no eye for design, is understandably way stoked.

"I wrote the song and gave it to Akon with the intention of it going to maybe Whitney Houston, but Akon said he wanted to cut it himself. I thought, 'It doesn't get any bigger than this'," the 27-year-old New York native tells Billboard.com. "A few months after, Akon plays the song for me and all of a sudden I hear Michael Jackson's voice. I was literally shaking by the time the song was over."

MJ’s my man. I dont give a shit what happens outside of music and what you are telling us with your “wacko jacko gossip dirt”. He deserves more respect – his damn name is “Michael Jackson”. Don`t speak for the rest of us – we all adore this man!

Anyway, this man is a legend and I always rep him when asked.

I for one can’t wait for a new Michael Jackson release! People always say he peaked with Thriller, that’s crap, the like of Dangerous and HIStory are my favourite Michael Jackson creations, he still has the greatest most unique voice on earth, Hold My Hand is proof of that

You know what… I would think the media would have more class and respect for anyone, no matter one have done or not done in their past. As a professional writer (unless you’re not one) would think you would keep your personal opinion to yourself and give straight news. Calling Michael Jackson “Wacko Jacko” just make me lose respect to writers out there.

    SEMJ,

You’re kidding right? There’s this whole concept people miss about the internet, which is that it’s the internet. This is not the NY Times or the Boston Globe.

This place here at Synthesis.net is exactly the opposite of what you said you would have wanted; it is a blog that displays news, political jabber, music, film, tech, etc. with a very healthy dose each writer’s opinions. We have never stated claim that we would take an objective eye towards anything around here, nor does that seem to be fitting for our goals.

Michael Jackson is a legend, he has THE most amazing voice, I love to hear him sing.
I HATE it when people call him wacko jacko, use his proper name and give the man some respect, the music buisness owes a lot to MJ.
Also, just to remind you he was found innocent of ALL charges

Jane, he settled out of court. That doesn’t make him “innocent.” He wears a surgical mask in public. He has all but removed his nose. He lives in a theme park. “Wacko Jacko” isn’t a comment on his music, which was amazing, but his personal life is completely insane. Child fame and pressure ruined the adult Jacko, no (elephant man) bones about it.

Why are Jackson fans so touchy? Get over it and stop wearing wolf-art sweaters.

coorection spencer, he was found innocent of all 14 counts of child molestation, lewd conduct and administering an alcohol subatstance to a minor, you should probably get your facts straight. No one is being touchy, we just have a level or respect for Michael, thats all. He is truly the greatest entertainer in the history of the music in the world, there is no arguing there, check the facts and stats. This is totally awesome that he is creating a new album, and the world cant wait, because regardless of the way anyone feels about him or his lifestyle, WE ALL are the reason why ALL of albums sold as much as they did, Michael is the king, and even if he never recorded again ( god forbid) there is one thing for sure, he will always be at the top of the music buiz, sitting on his throne, that can never be taken away!!!!

He’s a creepy old dude that used to make amazing music before he built a pedophile dreamland on his compound and started having 10 year olds sleep in bed with him. Court cases aside, it’s weird. Listen to Thriller and remember the good olde’ days.
